The start of the holiday season is here and with it brings many lovely cooler weather events! Although it’s not as famous as its sister city Seattle, Tacoma has tons of family-friendly events to enjoy.
The Washington State History Museum’s “People of the Adze: Shoalwater Bay Tribe” exhibit starts today; they feature beautiful carvings done by the Shoalwater Bay Indian Tribe and members of its Carving Apprenticeship Program. Join the fun on November 5th at the Doubletree SeaTac for the Sea to Sky West Coast Swing Convention, they will be having professionally taught workshops as well as several dance showcases. The Tacoma Convention center will be having a scrapbooking event on the weekend on the 13th and the Polar Plaza is finally opening on November 21st for its 5th year of ice skating fun! They will be having a Seattle Thunderbirds Hockey Day on November 22nd, go and learn how to skate with the pros! On Veteran’s Day, November 11th, War Memorial Park in the Skyline neighborhood will be hosting a day of remembrance in honor of all our wonderful service men and women. We can’t forget thanksgiving! The Tacoma Turkey Trot 5k starts bright and early at 9am on thanksgiving day! Last but not least, we have the 70th Annual Holiday Tree Lighting in the Pantages Theater lobby.
